Drake took a swing at Kid Cudi —and people aren't too happy about it
In September, Kid Cudi took to Twitter to express his frustrations about loyalty in the music business and ghostwriters for today's top rappers—and he explicitly called out Drake and Kanye West. Days later, the rapper checked himself into rehab for suicidal thoughts and substance abuses.
On Sunday, Drake released new music via his OVO Sound Radio and streaming services, but fans are a little peeved with a few lines in particular that seem to take shots at Cudi and mental health.
The song in question is "Two Birds, One Stone."

"You were the man on the moon/ Now you just go through your phases/ Life of the angry and famous," Drake raps. "You stay xanned and perked up / So when reality set in you don't gotta face it."
Many interpreted that line as trivializing Cudi's depression as a "phase," and folks were not cool with the dig, particularly as addressing mental health is still seen as a stigmatized issue within black communities.

Neither Drake or Cudi's camp have publicly acknowledged the controversial line, but Cudi returns to the stage in early November.
