This nerdy PowerPoint party theme is kind of genius

Delightful.

Though we think elaborate theme parties should stay firmly the territory of drunk college seniors, we'd consider an exception for a party like the one that's blowing up on Twitter.

Twitter user @Miexriir, a software engineer from Seattle, racked up 30,475 retweets after she shared photos from a "Drink Talk Learn" party where guests were required to give brief lectures to their fellow partygoers.

Per a screenshot she posted of the event invitation, the rules of a Drink Talk Learn party are as follows:

  • A party attendee's presentation shouldn't exceed 3 minutes and should include a PowerPoint.

  • Running over the time limit means the presenter needs to chug their drink.

  • And the presenter should choose a topic that interests them, obviously.

For @Miexriir, that meant a lecture titled "An Exploration of Shadow the Hedgehog's True Moral Compass" (which sounds fascinating and should be published in full on Medium).

While the prospect of building an elaborate presentation might seem a bit tedious to some, we'd guess making a little PowerPoint is nothing compared to making awkward small talk for 3 hours.
