Ah, drinking. It's all good until you face the brutal, dry-mouthed aftermath.

At least Australian man Steve Davidson tried to warn himself. He wrote a note explaining the potential hangover that loomed after a big night out. As his moniker "Sober Steve," he wrote a note to "Drunk Steve" reminding himself to hydrate.

"Please drink this bottle of water before bed then you can have the chicken wings in the fridge. Hangover Steve will thank you," he wrote.

Hey that's some totally sensible advice, but unfortunately that didn't the message didn't get through to a rebellious "Drunk Steve" who wouldn't have a bar of it. Warning, there is some foul language ahead.

"F*CK YOU SOBER STEVE I DO WHAT I WANT PS -- TELL SOBER HANGOVER STEVE THAT HE'S A LIL' BITCH," he wrote.

The note was uploaded to Twitter by a friend, @Tarryntino, back on Sunday where it has since received hundreds of retweets. Davidson told The Mirror it's the first time he's written a note to himself, but is known to talk to himself while drunk.

"I wrote the note to hopefully lessen the hangover as I'm now on the wrong side of 30 and they're just getting worse and lasting longer," he told the publication. Of course, he didn't bother heeding the advice.

"I'm quite stubborn when drunk so when I saw the note I thought, 'no one tells me what I can and can't do", so I replied, but I remember I kept getting confused to which Steve I was talking to hence the crossed out sections." Don't write while drunk, guys.
