Man receives preserved love note from his wife 51 years after it was written
Germaine Langdon wrote a very nice love note for her husband, Roy, on March 17, 1965. This week, 92-year-old Roy finally brought it home.
Granted, Germaine's note was a little unorthodox. She carved it in the drywall of their home in Blezard Valley, Ontario -- right before it was covered by paneling.

Eventually, the couple moved out of the house -- and Rebecca Churáň moved in.
Churáň came across the note when she was midway through a home improvement project.
"When I tore down the paneling in my living room, it revealed drywall," she wrote on Facebook. "I was exited [sic] because that meant I did not need to drywall haha."
But Churáň didn't discover the message until a few weeks later, when a friend was sitting directly underneath it.
It reads, "Germaine loves Roy March 17th, 1965."
She then posted a photo of the drywall to a community Facebook page, hoping to find Roy, Germaine or one of their family members. Sure enough, their daughter Claudette contacted her a few days later and let her know that, while Germaine had passed away in 2006, Roy would be overjoyed to receive the message.
So Churáň -- drywall in tow -- surprised Roy at his family's Easter dinner. As expected, he was thrilled.
"The love I could feel he had for his past wife was almost too hard to take," Churáň wrote.
If this were a Nicholas Sparks novel, we'd call it "If These Walls Could Talk."
