The face says, "Do I need to kick some ass and save the day -- right now, in real life?"

And that's because, well ... he was seriously thinking about it.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was just one of hundreds of glorious faces caught reacting in the moment as La La Land, mistakenly identified as Best Picture winner at the Oscars, gave way to Moonlight -- the reasons for which have now been well-documented.

But the best images from that moment weren't of La La Land producer Jordan Horowitz correcting the mistake, or Moonlight director Barry Jenkins accepting in disbelief.

The photos we can't stop looking at are from the crowd. And one face stands out.

It's not the face of shock, or of triumph, or any emotion we mere mortals know.

It's the face of, "Do these clowns need to be taken out right now?"

It's a face of calculation on the brink of decisive action.

The face of a can of whoop-ass about to be opened.

It's the face of the Rock.

To recap: "You can literally see my wheels spinnin' on whether or not I should hit the stage and take down an Oscars producer who I thought went rogue."

If the Rock has that kind of protective instinct wherever he goes, can we maybe get him to be everywhere, all at once?

Because in these times, we could use a guy like him around on our six.

Always.
