The internet wants to grind Baby Nut into peanut butter for Baby Yoda

Imagine how much satay sauce you'd get out of him.

In a society obsessed with youth, it was only a matter of time before 104-year-old Mr. Peanut outlived his usefulness. Yet with his untimely death came opportunity — namely, the opportunity to for Planters to capitalise on everyone's love of cute babies.

Revived by the Kool-Aid Man's tears on Super Bowl Sunday, the monocled legume was reborn as an infant dubbed "Baby Nut." With his wide eyes and button nose, this new mascot seemed specifically designed to copy the appeal of Baby Yoda, presenting a sweet, baby version of a well-known character.

So, of course, the internet responded by calling for Baby Nut to be ground up into peanut butter.

Rather than preparing a second bassinet for Baby Nut, many have declared they'd jump at the opportunity to feed him to Baby Yoda, and would feel no remorse about it at all. It appears they haven't taken kindly to the suggestion that Baby Nut might usurp Baby Yoda's place in the public's affections.

Compounding upon this is the fact that, rather than triggering consumers' protective instincts, the top-hatted Baby Nut may have unintentionally tapped into the popular desire to eat the rich.

Baby Nut is also literally food, so there's that as well.

Though turning Baby Nut into peanut butter is by far the most popular serving suggestion, others have proposed roasting him over a fire built from Baby Groot.

Personally, I'd like to crush him up and serve him with chocolate in his shell, like a vegetarian dessert lobster. Or even turn him into an indulgent amount of satay sauce which I can enjoy throughout the whole week. The possibilities are endless.

These meal ideas probably aren't the conversations Planters hoped their cute new mascot would prompt, but I'd still call it a win for them. After all, their nuts aren't for cooing over either.
