'Happy Ed Balls Day': Brits are celebrating the nation's favourite Twitter fail

LONDON -- Today is a very, very special day.

Not only is 28 April Ed Balls Day, but this year it's a big one -- the five year anniversary of the date on which former MP Ed Balls sent the following, brilliant tweet.

It's a powerful, important moment in the history of British Twitter, and not one the nation plans to forget anytime soon.

On the morning of 28 April 2016, people could hardly contain their excitement.




Although some people were equally frustrated.




For most, though, it was day to remember the good times.





There were snacks.


And, of course, photoshops and memes aplenty.




Mostly, though, there was the constant reminder that the Internet never forgets.


Ever.
