If you think looking like a famous singer would do wonders for your love life, think again.

Ty Jones, a 21-year-old from Sale, Manchester, happens to look exactly like singer Ed Sheeran, but he says that the life of a celebrity doppelgänger isn't as amazing as it sounds.

Jones told the Mirror, "When Ed became really famous I had people always coming up to me and talking to me and wanting my picture - it was crazy."

Though Jones said he is a massive fan of Sheeran's music, the look-alike struggles become more and more intense with each song Sheeran releases. "...It's like I can't escape it, people go mad when they think they're meeting Ed Sheeran," Jones said.

Though in theory resembling a beloved musical artist might sound wonderful, Jones told the Mirror that looking like Sheeran is taking a serious toll on his love life. From jealous partners, to constantly questioning the true intentions of others, Jones sounds like he's has had enough of secondhand fame.

"It's made my relationships worse I'd say because now I have to weigh up if they like me for me or are they're just interested in me because I'm the next best thing to Ed if they really like him."

"When girls ask me for pictures in the streets it's annoyed some of my girlfriends in the past and caused problems," Jones said. "It's hard to explain because it's not like I can help it and I don't like being horrible to people and deny them a picture if they want one."

According to the Mirror, the fact that Jones cannot sing doesn't stop people from asking him to "mime to Ed's songs" at parties or gigs.

While it has been a struggle, Jones admitted that the resemblance does have its perks, such as getting VIP access into clubs and getting pulled on stage by DJ Ben Pearce. "Ben actually thought I was Ed Sheeran and started introducing me as him it was quite funny - then when I told him I just look like him he couldn't believe it," Jones told the Mirror.

In 2012, Jones was even given the opportunity the chance to meet the singer himself. "Meeting Ed has been the highlight in all of this, he was so down to earth and just so shocked at how much I looked like him, it was really funny."

Hopefully, things look up for Jones' love life, and if nothing else, perhaps the two can use their looks to pull some hilarious pranks on fans in the future.
