Ed Sheeran and Game of Thrones go together like, well, Starks and Mormonts.

If you had any doubt that the UK crooner had a rightful place in the friendship circle that is the HBO show's cast, ponder this anecdote, delivered by the man himself.

Legend has it that after a GoT wrap-party Sheeran attended, the cast rocked up to Sheeran's London mansion and invaded the pub he built in his basement, not unlike a pack of rowdy children.

Yes, you read that correctly. The songwriter has his own bespoke underground pub where he throws parties -- what of it?

Sheehan told Australia's 2Day FM radio hosts Em Rusciano and Harley Breen all about it on Monday, while visiting Sydney.

"I went to a Game of Thrones wrap party...I thought it would be a cool thing to go. And I've started getting this recently -- like massive anxiety in crowds. So I just kind of walked in and was like, 'Oop, no, no don't like this' and left pretty much instantly.

"I got back to my house and it was like 2 a.m. and I was like, 'I'm just going to go to bed.' So I was getting ready for bed and then I got a text being like, 'We're outside your house.' So yeah, they all came in. It was quite a fun night actually. Played some pool."

When probed about exactly who was there, he said "Kit who plays Jon Snow. Alfie Allen, Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa. I'd met them all individually, but never as a group." What. The. Sh*t.

It seems the whole "I have an underground pub" thing is more to do with easing his aforementioned anxiety than anything else, unfortunately. "I don't mind 20, 30 people in my house, but 20, 30 people I don't know in a pub and I get, like, weird," he said.

"I was never like that before -- I loved going out -- but I just don't like being in big crowds of people. It's weird."

And with that in mind, the fact that a whole crew of Game of Thrones actors rocked up to his place to hang out with him feels all the cooler. If that's even possible.

Our kingdom to be friends with the Stark gang.
