UPDATE: Oct. 31, 2016, 11:44 a.m. EDT Updated to include video of Eddie Vedder belting out "Take Me Out to the Ball Game."

Hey, oooh, the Cubs are still alive. And one '90s icon is hoping to help save their season: Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder.

Chicago faces elimination Sunday in Game 5 of the World Series at Wrigley Field.

If the Cubs lose, the Cleveland Indians win their first Fall Classic since 1948 -- and Chicago extends the longest drought in professional sports.

On Friday, Bill Murray tried rallying the team by singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" in the style of Daffy Duck.

It didn't work. Cleveland won Game 3 and took control of the series.

Now, Eddie Vedder -- a native of Evanston, Illinois -- will sing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" during the seventh-inning stretch.

Will it inspire the Cubs to force a Game 6? Will fans, thinking they've entered a strange '90s time-warp, leave the stadium to go home and watch Singles?

Here's the footage of Vedder from Sunday night's game:
