This 4-legged chicken is safe to eat, says farming official
A four-legged chicken has popped up on a farm in Shandong, China, and already people are wondering if its meat is edible.
According to local Chinese reports, the chicken did not belong to the farm but was spotted in the vicinity by the daughter of a farmer, Zhu Zhenwu. It has a pair of legs plus an additional pair on the lower part of its body.
Zhu decided to take the curious-looking animal home and it has since attracted hoards of curious visitors keen on having a closer look at it.

Zhu told reporters that the chicken is about a month old and despite its deformity, it was able to run around normally like any other chicken. The family is not sure how much longer the chicken will survive.
It looks like all the sudden attention has taken its toll on the chicken, which has become less active and seems to have lost its will to live, reported DZwww.com.
A local farming official has also confirmed that the chicken's deformity does not affect its meat. We're guessing, the family need not fight over who gets a drumstick if they decide to eat the chicken.
In Asia, drumstick is the preferred part of meat as opposed to breast meat.
