LOS ANGELES -- Snowden is headed to Comic-Con.

Open Road Films, the film's distributor, will tease never-before-seen footage and host a live conversation with director Oliver Stone and star Joseph Gordon-Levitt at Comic Con's Hall C on Day 1.

Stone's film follows the life of Edward Snowden (Gordon-Levitt) -- from serving in the Army Reserve to leaking top-secret documents that show the National Security Agency was spying on American citizens.

Stone co-wrote the film with Kieran Fitzgerald. It co-stars Shailene Woodley, Scott Eastwood, Zachary Quinto, Tom Wilkinson and Melissa Leo.

The movie hits theaters Sept. 16.
