Egyptian tour company exemplifies 'too soon,' uses hijacking to promote travel

"Who knows? You might get hijacked and go to Cyprus."

An Egyptian tourism company is taking a lighter view of Tuesday's EgyptAir hijacking, presenting a textbook case of "too soon."

Lions Trips is promoting excursions on its Facebook page with a remark about how "maybe a hijacker will take you to Cyprus" as a bonus.

The company put up the post mere hours after a man hijacked EgyptAir Flight MS181 and forced a landing in Cyprus.

The passengers and crew on board the flight from Alexandria have been released, no injuries were reported, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

A full translation of the post reads, "Book a flight from us to Hurghada on Thursday, April 7 and maybe a hijacker will take you to Cyprus. Or roll the dice and maybe it will be France or Italy."

Brands often try to capitalize on current events, but making light of a plane hijacking on the same day it happens has to be some kind of record.
