'Election confessions' reveals how depressed Americans are about this weird 2016 race
How are you feeling about the election?
That's not a question people hear all that often. Even less common is the chance to answer honestly in public.
That's what NBC News is offering with Election Confessions, a new project from NBC News that is collecting the thoughts of people on what has to be considered among the most bizarre elections in U.S. history.

To submit, people can send a text, a photo of text or drop a voicemail at 424-353-2016.
The projects provides a bit of a break from the standard horse-race election coverage, as well as a more nuanced look at the electorate's feelings outside of polls.
The project has been up for a couple days, and NBC News said it already has more than 700 submissions.
One thing that comes through: this is not the "hope and change" optimism of the 2008 and 2012 elections.
Many of the posts provide a sense of frustration and resignation about the direction of the 2016 presidential race. There's plenty of vitriol from Republicans and Democrats, but also some hoping for a third-party option.
