This Canadian 1-seater electric car is the lonely man's Tesla
Do you love driving an electric car, but hate the daily reminder that you're alone in this world as you drive solo in a car built for five passengers?
Well, a Canadian company called Electra Meccanica can help. Its new electric vehicle, the SOLO, lets even the loneliest of commuters travel to and fro with peace of mind. That's because the one-seater EV trike couldn't accommodate a second soul even if you wanted it to.
In all seriousness, though, the SOLO was actually designed to bring eco-friendly motoring to the masses. And I wager it succeeds at that.

First off, the SOLO costs approximately $15,500 U.S. ($19.888 Canadian), which makes it incredibly affordable. Secondly, it has an impressive range. It's capable of going 100 miles on a single charge. What's more, it's pretty peppy, as it can do 0 to 60 mph in 8.0 seconds. And when plugged into a 220-volt socket, it only takes 3 hours to fully recharge.
The impressive specs don't end there. Although it's just a three-wheeler, the SOLO offers similar amenities to that of a modern four-wheel EV. Namely, it has a Bluetooth stereo, a rearview backup camera, remote keyless entry and power windows. Plus, it has 15-inch aluminum alloy wheels and disc brakes to boot.
That's not even to mention its roof -- something one of its competitors, the Arcimoto SRK, can't boast. However, the SRK can seat two passengers. So, it has that over the SOLO.
