Elle Fanning missed her senior prom, so she casually recreated it in Cannes
Like many teens, Elle Fanning unfortunately had to miss her prom to attend the 69th annual Cannes Film Festival.
Sure, Fanning got to promote her latest film, The Neon Demon, which is cool, but apparently missing prom is still a bummer no matter how famous you are.
Don't worry though, Fanning's date flew to join her in Cannes and they did their best to make up for her skipping her big day.

The 18-year-old actress donned a fancy dress (nothing new there) and joined her date on the staircase to recreate a time-honored tradition...taking prom pics.
A bouquet of flowers and a boutonniere are present in the Instagram photo, and the caption featured two hashtags that probably don't get much use: #ProminCannes and #PromontheRedCarpet.
Fanning looked stunning in a blush Zuhair Murad Couture dress with floral embroidery, in which she later took to the red carpet.
We're not sure how a night could get much cooler.
