Emilia Clarke headed to 'Star Wars' universe for young Han Solo film

LOS ANGELES -- This is not a drill: Emilia Clarke is joining the Star Wars universe.

Disney announced Friday that the Game of Thrones actress, best known for her role as the badass Khaleesi Queen of Dragons, is joining the upcoming Han Solo standalone film.

The untitled Han Solo movie, which takes place before the original Star Wars trilogy, is set for a 2018 release.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will direct. Clarke will star alongside Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover, who will play Han Solo and Lando Calrissian, respectively.
