"Oh my God, please tell me you're seeing this too," Malek said when accepting his award. "Oh my God."

"It's unfortunate, but i’m not sure how many of us would want to hang out with a guy like Elliot," Malek said. "I want to honor the Elliots. Because there's a little bit of Elliot in all of us."

The show received six Emmy nods this year. Malek was nominated last year as well, but lost to frontrunner Jon Hamm, who took home his first Emmy for his role as the infamous Don Draper on Mad Men.

Malek's fellow nominees included: Kyle Chandler (Bloodline), Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul), Matthew Rhys (The Americans), Liev Schreiber (Ray Donovan) and Kevin Spacey (House of Cards).
