Watch a marriage proposal that slips right through the cracks... literally

Not all proposals end with a ring on your finger.

Sometimes proposals can be out of the box and not in the way you think.

The scene plays out perfectly in Kansas City, Missouri. The couple spends a moment whispering to each other, sharing a kiss, before he gets on one knee.

Cue the aws and oohs.

Then we wait for the next four words: Will you marry me?

Except the ring had other ideas. It falls out of the box, into the cracks of the bridge before falling into the river. I really hope he has insurance for the ring.

The groom's expression is the face of horror. Did. That. Really. Just. Happen?!

Staci Dabney's photography on Facebook posted the video and story. They even described the aftermath of the lost ring.

"Once Seth and Ruth's friends heard about this tragedy that they experienced on the night of their engagement they couldn't resist to jump in and help," the post reads. "They grabbed their goggles and headed to Loose Park in search of this small treasure... After a long, hard search all the divers came up empty handed. The couple left with no ring in hand but a heart full of love and memories to last a lifetime."

That's all nice and all, but it never says whether she said yes. We'll just assume so.
