The world reacts to Iceland's Euro 2016 win over England with joy, Brexit jokes, and Bjork
The 2016 UEFA Euro soccer tournament has given the world plenty of memorable moments, but nothing will compare to Iceland's victory over England on Monday in the Round of 16.
For Iceland, it was a triumph. England ... not so much. Commentators used words like "embarrassing," "desolation," and "disaster" to describe the loss.
The 2-1 win for Iceland was a David-beats-Goliath moment, the small, 34th-ranked island country beating one of the giants of the sport -- just days after England's "Brexit" vote. It was so crushing, England's coach stepped down after the match.
