Being good at hide-and-seek requires creativity, as well as the ability to fit your body into small and difficult to find places.) That's why kids are great at it.

But one kid's out-of-the-box thinking led him very, very far away.

Five-year-old Tyler, from Perth in Australia, went missing after playing the game on Monday. His disappearance launched something of a search party, but turns out he'd just found an incredible hiding spot.

Tyler was eventually found hiding in his mother's car, more than 25 kilometres (15.5 miles) away in a shopping centre, according to 7 News. He had been driven away by his unknowing mother, Kayla Bishop, who went off to the movies with her girlfriend while he was in the boot.

"He would've had to have been asleep, otherwise he wouldn't have been quiet for that long," Bishop told the news outlet.

A passerby at the shopping centre saw Tyler asleep, and contacted security, then police. Tyler unlocked the car, but police quickly figured out that it was all part of a rather long-winded game, and returned him to his parents.

No surprises if Tyler got his hide and seek ideas from Monty Python.
