Eric Trump is now a front-runner for the Most Oblivious Thing Ever Said About the Internet by Anyone, Anywhere

It seems highly unlikely, given the amount of controversy most of President Trump's Tweets generate, that anyone in the Trump family hasn't seen what their patriarch has wrought on Twitter. And yet: Recent comments made in an interview with an Irish newspaper seem to indicate otherwise.

You see, Eric Trump—the Middle Son—took time during his interview with The Independent to complain about people who compose mean tweets.

Yes—this is what you'd call irony.

After explaining what a "mean" game politics is—so mean, in fact, that it puts the real estate, "the most cutthroat industry in the world" to shame—Trump went on to highlight some of the behavior to which he was referring.

He shared an anecdote about family friend and golfer Rory McIlroy, who received online criticism after playing a round of golf with the president at Trump International in Florida, expressing his disappointment in online Twitter trolls who take shots at others from behind their screens. Sound familiar?

"No matter what side it is with, you are always going to get backlash. You are going to have a few people who have nothing better to do than to sit behind a computer and send a mean tweet. It's unfortunate, but it's the nature of the game."

Somehow, it appears Eric has forgotten that his own family doesn't have a spotless Twitter track record. After all, who could forget his brother, Donald Trump Jr.'s controversial tweet comparing Syrian refugees to Skittles? And that's to say nothing of his father, who's absolutely killing the (mean tweet) game.

Browsing through Donald Tump's Twitter archive truly puts the sheer volume of his Twitter insults into perspective, showing he's used the platform to send some mean words to everyone from Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama to Mac Miller, Lord Sugar and Rosie O'Donnell.

Just look at the nice language the president is frequently seen using on his platform:

But he's definitely not on the same level as "people who have nothing better to do than to sit behind a computer and send a mean tweet," right, Eric?

Trump's son went on to assure everyone, that though we might not see it, the president is a great guy. "What people don't see is that he has a heart of gold. There is no better father in the world than my dad."
