Esports: they aren't just for streaming anymore.

ESPN is planning to run marathons of esports-related programming this Sunday on its ESPN2 and ESPNU networks.

It's a day of events centered around the Street Fighter V finals at EVO in Las Vegas, the year's biggest fighting game tournament. While ESPN is only broadcasting the Street Fighter finale (eight other games are also presented at EVO), it plans to fill Sunday with other competitive gaming content across its networks. While none of it is a live broadcast aside from the EVO portion, multiple genres are represented.

The Heroes of the Dorm championships were collegiate Heroes of the Storm tournaments originally broadcast on ESPNU and ESPN2. As one of the first esports experiences broadcast on the network, they caused quite a confusion for regular fans who were surprised to see video games where basketball might normally be.

How will they react when they see Ryu throwing fireballs at Guile Sunday night?
