Etihad plane hits 'severe' turbulence injuring 30 passengers
An Etihad Airways flight has experienced "severe and unexpected turbulence" that caused injuries to more than 30 people, the airline has said.
Flight EY474 from Abu Dhabi was 45 minutes away from Jakarta when it encountered turbulence. The Airbus A330-200 landed safely at Soekarno Hatta International Airport.
A total of 31 passengers and crew were injured and 10 people were taken to hospital.

Passengers said oxygen masks were released during the turbulence, according to Jakarta-based Okezone.
As a result, flight EY475 from Jakarta to Abu Dhabi was cancelled.
"Etihad Airways has sent a support team from its home base in Abu Dhabi, and is assisting passengers scheduled to travel on this flight, by rebooking them on alternate flights or providing hotel accommodation," the airline said.
