DIY iPhone cases made from Evian bottles are all the rage in Japan
There's something special about being able to make a unique phone case all by yourself. In Japan, Evian is the brand of the moment for DIY enthusiasts looking to pimp up their phones.
People are cutting out Evian logos from their mineral water bottles and pasting them on clear iPhone cases, and sharing the results on social media.
Some have chosen to go for a clean design, with just the logo. While others have decorated their cases with glitter and confetti cut-outs.

People are also sharing DIY instructions. Most set ups are inexpensive, only needing a simple clear case that costs about 100 yen ($1) in stores.
Others are trying to profit from the trend, selling their Evian creations online.
It's not clear why Evian designs are so hot in Japan, given that it holds 3 percent of the country's mineral water market, and is seventh in line behind local giants like Suntory and Kirin.
But as far as trends go, this is clearly a win for the French brand.
