Londoners are jubilant that one of the city's most beloved nightclubs, Fabric, has reached a settlement with Islington Council to reopen.

Under the new rules, under-19s will be banned from entering and anyone dealing or found with drugs will be banned from the club for life.

The popular venue, based in Farringdon, was closed after the council revoked its licence following the recent deaths of two teenagers from suspected overdoses.

Judge Robin McPhee agreed to the terms under which the premises must be run.

"I am satisfied that the council and Fabric pulled together to get a set of workable conditions to prevent drug use," she said.

Conditions also include: the use of a new ID scanning system on entry, enhanced searching procedures and controls, and covert surveillance within the club.
