For a brief moment of bliss, Facebook was down
UPDATE: Aug. 3, 2018, 10:04 a.m. PDT About 45 minutes after Facebook went down the social media platform said it resolved its issues and the site and app were back up and running. A Facebook spokesperson said in an email, "Earlier today, a technical issue caused some people to have trouble connecting to Facebook and it has since been resolved.”

Other information, like the extent of the brief outage, was not available.
Try going to Facebook.com on your browser, and you'll probably see nothing this morning.
Just after 9 a.m. PT, users started posting on Twitter about the social media site not loading. For many users the site was just a blank white page.
The Facebook mobile app also seemed to down this morning.
DownDetector showed a surge of outage reports and its outage map included North and South America, Europe, parts of Asia and the Middle East.
The posts (and jokes) about the widespread outage started coming in fast.
