That knockoff Guy Fieri Halloween costume isn't real, but it's still hilarious

Sadly, the Governor of Tasteville doesn't exist.

Some people were born to inspire a perfect Halloween costume, and Guy Fieri is one of them.

For anyone looking to put together a kick-ass Mayor of Flavortown getup this Halloween, there's a plethora of merch for sale online — from flame shirts and platinum blond wigs with attached visors, to masks and more. But recently, a delightful fully-assembled Fieri costume has been making the rounds on social media.

A photograph posted on Twitter and Reddit shows a parody Fieri costume hilariously labeled, "Governor of Tasteville." The package, which, at first glance, appears to be from a Spirit Halloween store, is said to include sunglasses, a fake goatee, a bowling shirt, and Fieri's famous donkey sauce.

It seems plausible, and the costume is great, but if you take a closer look you'll realize that sadly, the image is Photoshopped.

Aside from the fact that the fonts on the bags don't quite match up, Spirit Halloween likely wouldn't namedrop Fieri's trademark "Donkey Sauce," especially if they can't call the costume "Mayor of Flavortown." If you zoom in on the upper righthand side of the bag you'll see a watermark.

Turns out the image is from a Guy Fieri-inspired Facebook meme page called Guy Fieri's Post-Ironic Meme Vault, which is so fantastic it almost makes up for the fact that the costume's fake.

On Saturday the page shared the image with the caption, "Just got my Halloween costume!" At the time of writing this post, the photo had nearly 10,000 shares and more than 2,000 comments. Several people even shared photographs of themselves actually dressed as the Food Network star for Halloween. Beautiful!

The page currently has 10,000 followers and is the perfect place for Fieri-fueled laughs, so if you're a fan you might want to consider giving it a follow. And as for your Guy-themed Halloween costumes, in a 2016 interview with People, Fieri revealed that he approves.

"Every once in a while the kids will go, ‘Hey, he’s you! Hey, come over!’ and we do a picture and everything,'" Fieri explained to the publication when discussing running into fake Fieri's while trick-or-treating.

"I think it’s funny," he said. "It’s cool. You gotta be able to laugh. You gotta be able to enjoy it."

You heard the man. Keep the Guy costumes coming.
