Bethesda's new paid mod service Creation Club is now live, and includes an interesting piece of armor for Fallout 4.

It's called Horse Power Armor. It costs roughly $3 of real human money dollars. It's ridiculous.

Fallout 4's Horse Power Armor is a reference to Bethesda's first attempt at paid downloadable content for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, for which they sold a useless (and unattractive) suit of armor that players' horses could wear for $2.50. Here's what it looks like:

Fallout's version of horse armor goes on humans and has three horse heads sitting on the helmet (not real horse heads, don't worry).

Although it's a funny reference to a heavily ridiculed DLC decision, the ridiculous-looking Horse Power Armor misses the point because it still costs real money. Players have to pay money to get Creation Club credits, which are then exchanged for items.

You can't reference something that people thought was too stupid to pay real money for with something that also costs real money.

Regardless, it exists. This is the world we live in. We're all to blame. We did this.
