Describing the Harry Potter fanbase as passionate would probably be the world's biggest understatement.

It's been over a decade since the final book was released, but J.K. Rowling is still regularly fielding questions about random plot points on Twitter.

It's only going to get worse, too. Now that the Fantastic Beasts movies are in full stride, there's a whole plethora of new scenes for hungry audience members to pick apart.

On Tuesday, the trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald dropped. And it wasn't long before one moment in particular had caught the eyes of the Harry Potter fanbase.

The moment that tweet is referring to occurs a few seconds in to the trailer. Here is the highly controversial clip:

As more people watched the trailer, more and more people took to Twitter to make the same point.

Not everyone was convinced, though.

So what's the deal here? Is it because they're with Dumbledore that they're able to apparate? Are they technically outside the Hogwarts grounds? Or is there some other reason that will become clearer when the film comes out?

If we had to guess, we'd say it's probably going to be one of the first two reasons. As someone pointed out on Twitter, Rowling has previously written in a piece on Pottermore that "the castle and grounds have always been protected with Anti-Apparition Charms", so it seems unlikely that the film pre-dates this protection.

Our best guess would be that they're with Dumbledore and they have special permission to be there (and therefore permission to apparate close to the school).

After all, Dumbledore can do what he likes.
