While the vice presidential debate is still a few hours away, the internet is already taking off with jokes about the location of the event: Farmville, Virginia.

Longwood University is the site of the showdown between Democratic VP candidate Tim Kaine and Republican VP candidate Mike Pence. It's the only time the two will face off, squeezed in between the first and second presidential debates. And Farmville and the surrounding area in central Virginia, like many other parts of the country, has an interesting history in regards to America's historical racial disparity.

But, on Twitter, everyone is making the obvious joke, comparing the small Virginia town to the game on Facebook that has spurred on so many updates you have probably long since blocked comments about it from your feed.

The game itself, though, seemed far more concerned about other matters in the hours leading up to the debate.
