This budget gaming laptop (in some different, more powerful specs) won a Mashable Choice Award in 2023. Mashable's Tech Editor Kimberly Gedeon gave the version with 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD a stellar 4.7 rating and thought it was especially good value for its under-$1,000 price.
You can grab this iteration at Acer for under $600, however, it only comes with 8GB RAM, so keep in mind it's likely best to use for lighter gameplay. If you're more into games like Fortnite, Minecraft, and The Sims, this is a great option, but games like Cyberpunk 2077 or Baldur's Gate 3 could lose their luster. Gedeon also dinged the V 15 for its loud fans, "mid" display, and "meh" battery life — but you can't ask for the moon at this price.
