Did you know you don't have to be a total outdoor pro to enjoy camping and hiking? (After all, hiking is just walking, when it comes down to it.)

You know what else you don't have to do? Spend a fortune on fancy gear to enjoy the great outdoors, especially when deals like this one are floating around. As of Feb. 23, you can get up to 50% off camping and hiking gear at REI.

Here are our top picks from the sale:

Best tent deal

Why we like it

REI's deals section has a ton of tents, but the Eureka Copper Canyon LX 6-person tent stands out as the best deal. You can take your whole gang on a camping trip with this thing (or go glamping alone, if that's more your style).

This is a freestanding tent, and it's pretty easy to assemble. It's called "cabin-style" thanks to its spacious interior (100 square feet) and large mesh windows. There's also extended fly coverage over the door for added protection in case of rain.

There's only one door, but there are plenty of internal pockets and a Zippered E! Powerport to charge your devices inside the tent.

Could we really write this mini-roundup without mentioning at least one Stanley product? I mean, this is the internet, and Stanley Cups are basically the Taylor Swift of beverage containers at this point.

Either way, the Stanley AeroLight Transit 20-ounce water bottle is just $23.93 at REI. It comes in several colors, including rose quartz glimmer and lapis glimmer (a dark blue), and is one-third lighter than the standard Stanley stainless-steel bottles.

Best sleeping pad deal

$115.73 at REI
$189.95 Save $74.22

Why we like it

While most people imagine a sleeping bag whenever they think of camping, the more realistic option is a sleeping pad. Unlike a traditional sleeping bag, the NEMO Tensor Ultralight sleeping pad is like a lightweight air mattress that fits in your backpack. With three inches of quiet cushioning and an included Vortex pump sack to easily inflate and deflate, this sleeping pad provides comfort and convenience, no matter where you're going.

This sleeping pad has a lifetime warranty, so you can rest easy knowing you're covered for any unexpected issues.
