It’s Summer Lovin’ Week here at Mashable, which means things are getting steamy. In honor of the release of Crazy Rich Asians, we’re celebrating onscreen love and romance, looking at everything from our favorite fictional couples to how Hollywood’s love stories are evolving. Think of it as our love letter to, well, love.

TV and movies are full of good-looking dudes who follow their scripts to woo, lose, and more than likely woo again the men and women whom they love. Many of these love stories are so famous that they're seen as templates for IRL love — but would any of our fictional romantic heroes hold up to life in the real world?

Enter the Best Fictional Boyfriend Bracket: a way to whittle down which characters would actually be a good boyfriend as opposed to just being part of a story.

Things to keep in mind include personality traits, flirting style, long-term potential, and overarching decency. Go forth and fill it out — and share which boyfriend is truly the bae-est of them all.
