Oh boy.

There's a new Street Fighter-style fighting game out on Steam, and it's pitting deities from different world religions against each other.

In Fight of Gods, players can get Jesus to battle the Buddha, or Zeus to fight it out with Viking god Odin.

There are eight gods on the fighting roster, with more promised to join as the game reaches launch date.

The game is made by indie Taiwan developer Digital Crafter, with UK publisher PQube -- and it looks hell bent on offending people.

The trailer is full of lighthearted puns, like, "The son of God is back, and he's cross."

"Your prayers have been answered," begins the game description on Steam.

The game hasn't hit full release status yet, and is still only for early access gamers on Steam.

But while it's packaged as a terrible joke, it's apparently well-made as a fighting game.

"I picked this game up as a meme, because I didnt think it would be that good. But to my surprise, its one of the best fighters I played this year," said Weeaboo Jones.

Another player said it was a "fairly satisfying fighter," even likening it to well-established franchise The King of Fighters.

But if Digital Crafter meant for the joke to offend, it's working in at least one country. Religious leaders in Malaysia have already called for a ban on the game from being downloaded in the country, citing possible religious tension arising.

Both the Council of Churches Malaysia and a top Muslim leader has condemned the game, reported local outlets.

As a result, the country's Communications and Multimedia ministry on Thursday gave Steam 24 hours to block the game from being downloaded by Malaysian users.

We'll update if Steam really does end up blocking the game.
