After losing to Team Liquid twice in a row at ESL One New York, Fnatic's Twist sat down and talked about joining the legendary team and playing at the LAN event in New York.

Twist joined Fnatic's Counter-Strike roster in August with Godsent teammate Lekr0 and Fnatic stand-in Wenton. Twist briefly played with Fnatic veterans Olofmesiter and Dennis in 2014 on TeamGlobal, so the shift wasn't too jarring.

"It's really cool to play with Dennis and Olof again," Twist told Mashable. "The transition has been good, to be honest."

Fnatic is still trying to find its feet though. The current roster hasn't played together for very long and haven't racked up many impressive wins yet.

"It's a process," Twist said. "It's a new team, a new core... but it's going good. We're learning from every official match -- every loss, we learn something new."

Two losses they undoubtedly learned from were against Team Liquid on Saturday, the second of which removed them from the ESL One tournament. The first match was a close best-of-one battle on Dust2, narrowly losing 16-14 to the North American squad.

"I don't know what we did," Twist said. "We gave the some easy peaks that they used against us."

For the rematch, the teams ended up choosing Dust2 again.

"We felt like we should've beaten them the first time and we thought we were going to beat them easily the second time. Maybe we should have gone with another map," Twist said with a laugh.

Despite not making it to the semifinals, Twist enjoyed playing for a crowd of thousands at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn -- even if they were rooting for Team Liquid.

"It was really awesome, one of the best experiences for sure," he said with a New York Yankees hat sitting on his head.
