You can now apply (yes, apply) to buy the $450,000 Ford GT supercar
Starting today, you can apply to be one of the first 500 buyers of the 2017 Ford GT.
Do you currently own a Ford GT? Do you consider yourself an outstanding Ford brand representative? Do you have more than $400,000 to spend on a ultra-high-performance American supercar? Then you should log on to FordGT.com and put in an application for Ford's all-new GT supercar.

Once approved, customers will be contacted by the new "Ford GT Concierge Service." Not only will the newly formed Concierge Service representative ensure a personalized purchase experience, he or she will support you throughout the delivery as well as the many years of GT ownership.
"The purchase process for the Ford GT is as unique as our all-new supercar," said Henry Ford III, global marketing manager, Ford Performance. "We understand GT customers are strong ambassadors for Ford Motor Company, and we look forward to providing them a service as distinct as the car itself."
Even if you can't afford to buy the all-new supercar, which Ford has priced in the "mid-$400,000s, excluding destination and delivery," you can still emotionally torture yourself by building one in the online configurator. Production cars can be ordered in one of eight exterior colors and paired with one of seven different stripe colors. That hopefully means that few of the new GTs should be the same, which is a fun thought.
As for production numbers, Ford says it will only build 250 GTs per year. However, the initial order round will encompass the first two years of production -- 500 GTs in total.
