'Empire' fans, prepare yourselves: There's a new Lee Daniels show coming to Fox
Fox is expanding its empire with a new project from the man behind Empire.
The network on Wednesday officially gave a series order to Star, a new musical drama from Lee Daniels that Fox bosses just boasted about last week at the National Association of Broadcasters conference.

The show centers on three young singers "who navigate the cut-throat music business on their road to success," according to a description. It stars newcomers Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny and Brittany O’Grady as well as Queen Latifah and Benjamin Bratt.
Much like Empire, the series will feature original music and big-name guest stars. Lenny Kravitz has already been booked to appear.
The network also gave a series order to 24: Legacy, a reboot of the action-packed series that starred Keifer Sutherland.
The new series, from original EPs Howard Gordon and Brian Grazer, stars Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton), Miranda Otto (Homeland) and Jimmy Smits (Sons of Anarchy). Sutherland is also billed as an EP.
Both series will premiere in the upcoming 2016-17 TV season.
