The Grinch didn't steal Christmas this year. No, he brutally stabbed Frosty the Snowman on his front lawn.

A home surveillance camera captured the heinous crime, which occurred on Sunday at approximately 11:22 p.m. in St. Louis, Missouri. Jeff Diggs, the Christmas-loving owner of the home, told KTVI how it all went down.

"We could see a pickup truck come down the street -- down the alley here -- a passenger jumped out you can see him run up to the snowman here and shank it, try to cut the rope and then he took off went back to the truck and took off," Diggs said.

The whole ordeal took just seconds (clearly, this was a professional hit), though Diggs thinks it was probably just a couple of teens or young adults.

"It’s just mean spirited, it’s silly vandalism" Diggs said. "It looks like a couple of kids just having fun. While it might be fun to you it hurts other people."

Diggs is still keep his spirits up, and has set up a comical GoFundMe page to help pay for Frosty's medical expenses. He has raised $130 of his $500 goal at the time of writing.

"Frosty received a total of 9 stitches from the stabbing. He is doing well and recovering from his injury." Diggs wrote on the page. "He insisted on going back to work immediately because he believes in the magic of the holiday season and hopes that all people will come together and learn to love and respect each other regardless of our differences!"

Any funds raised from the crowdfunding page will go to benefit Judge Joe Murphy's annual kids in need charity.
