ICYMI, space scientists really don't want us staring up at the sun for today's solar eclipse without wearing the right eye protection.
Sure, you can make your own viewing devices at home, but that doesn't mean you can just wear any old thing and call it a day. But that hasn't stopped some people on the internet from showing off their creatively non-functioning solar eclipse glasses. They may not think the glasses will work, but they sure think they're funny.
