The end of 'Game of Thrones' earned a standing ovation from the cast

But who survives to the end?

We may not see the ultimate ending of Game of Thrones until 2019, but the actors have now read the script for the series finale, and they're already beginning to torture us with cryptic clues.

The latest culprit is Sansa Stark herself, Sophie Turner, who described the experience of being at the final table read for the last episode as "bittersweet" in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

"At the end of the very last script, they read aloud, 'End of Game of Thrones.' As soon as they read that out, pretty much everyone burst into tears," Turner teased. "There was a standing ovation for [showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss]. We were all clapping and cheering. It was amazing."

Turner said that the experience of reading the final script was "a shock to the system. We actually realized, reading that 'end of Game of Thrones line' [at the end of the table read], that that was it. When you're in it, you don't really see an end point. It's just an ongoing thing you're living with. It was a real shock. It was really sad, but there was an immense amount of pride, too."

Does this mean that Sansa survives until the very end of Season 8? Possibly -- or maybe the showrunners didn't make the cast members who were killed off in the final few episodes leave the room after their characters were axed. The Game of Thrones cast is too savvy (and paranoid) about spoilers at this point to let something like that slip so casually, right?

Turner also revealed that the actors enjoy speculating about the show as much as viewers do -- and they've obviously got some fan theories of their own.

"All of us have always had discussions about theories about what we think is going to happen — who's going to die, who's going to end up ruling. Now, we know," she says. "It almost feels like another one of our theories. It doesn't even feel like it's what's actually happening. It's very satisfying."

As for what Season 8 has in store, Turner previewed "bigger and more fantastical elements, which have always been underlying throughout, but this time, it's really emerging and there are very big roles this season." We'd guess she means the increased presence of the White Walkers and dragons -- but here's hoping for more direwolf action, too.

"There are more relationships formed this season than any other. And more people meeting and more conspiracies and plotting and forming of alliances," she hinted. "The greater the fantastical elements become, and the more epic it becomes with the fighting and everything, the greater the character-driven storylines become as well, and the more epic they become."
