Now that Game of Thrones has overtaken George R. R. Martin's published books, HBO has gone into lockdown mode to protect the show's secrets from overzealous fans -- and from its occasionally clumsy cast members, who have been known to accidentally spill plot details on social media.

Gone are the days when an actor can just innocently post a script page to Instagram, according to Nathalie Emmanuel, thanks to the show's new security protocols.

“They’ve definitely tightened up who has scripts and how we’re given them,” Emmanuel told the UK's Fabulous magazine.“You have to look at it digitally. They won’t send it to us unless our emails have a two-step verification [security process]. You might get given rehearsal notes on set, but you have to sign for and return them before you leave. If you don’t, people will chase you until you give them back!”

Of course, that protectiveness won't stop fans from flocking to filming locations to scope out clues for the new episodes, with rumors circulating that much of the plot for Season 7 has leaked online.

Jaime Lannister himself, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, even confirmed that the ending of Game of Thrones is online somewhere -- although, by now, fans know that the cast have become pros at misdirecting spoiler seekers.

“If you go online you can definitely read every plot point that’s going to happen,” Coster-Waldau told the Observer in a recent interview. “You can find the ending of Game of Thrones on the internet. It’s there. But you wouldn’t know. Of course, nobody really wants to know.”

It's true -- there are so many fan theories and alleged spoilers out there, it's become almost impossible to know which could be true. Will Jaime Lannister kill his sister, Cersei? Is Jon Snow the Prince Who Was Promised? Could Hodor come back as a White Walker? Is Sam the narrator of the entire show?

This is what happens when the show premieres in July instead of April -- we've all got way too much time on our hands. And you can bet your direwolf that we're going to spend it obsessing over Season 7 and those newly announced Game of Thrones spinoffs in development.
