'Game of Thrones' star Iain Glen says bosses are 'absolutely paranoid' about leaks
If you were wondering how the producers of Game of Thrones are feeling in the long run-up to the show's final season, Iain Glen has a word for it.
A couple of words, actually.
"They're absolutely paranoid now about anyone finding out anything about the series and spoiling it," was how the actor, who plays the recently de-scaled Ser Jorah Mormont, described things in a BBC Radio 5 Live interview.
"We weren't allowed a written word on a page."
"Everything was accessed through iPads..."
To be fair, the paranoia is understandable. Game of Thrones has a history of plot details being leaked, and the problem only seems to have grown worse as the show's progressed.
We've had actors being photographed on location; we've had leaked set images; back in 2016, we even had a potted summary of the whole of Season 7 being posted on Reddit.
Unsurprisingly, with the show's climax approaching, HBO is doing absolutely everything in its power to keep security as tight as possible.
"Everything was accessed through iPads with different security you had to get through to access it," Glen explained. "Which caused a problem for the actors, I have to say."
Only time will tell whether or not this added security has done its job.
