Warning: Contains spoilers for Game of Thrones Season 7, Episode 4.

In the battle of Jaime Lannister Vs. Giant Dragon, there can only be one winner.

It doesn't necessarily mean it's game over for the loser, though.

After Jaime went plummeting into that lake at the end of Sunday's episode, things weren't looking great. But if there's one thing we've learned so far on Game of Thrones it's that even an on-screen death isn't necessarily permanent -- and a cliffhanger where someone looks like they might be dead is almost certainly not.

So, let's assume that Jaime Lannister isn't going to die -- how will he be rescued, and what's going to happen to him when he is?

Well, Redditor ANiceOakTree had the following theory:

Based on the Episode 5 trailer, this makes the most sense.

In the preview we see Daenerys speaking to a group of what looks like surviving Lannister soldiers. There's no sign of Jaime, but the situation gives us an important clue: Dany is still at the scene of the battle. If Jaime is to be rescued -- and he'll have to be pulled out of that lake pretty quickly if he's going to survive -- he'll almost certainly be taken hostage.

Which would make an interesting plot arc when he's reunited with Tyrion, wouldn't it?

If Jaime is captured it'll be interesting to see how Daenerys decides to use him in the coming war... and whether or not Tyrion decides to let her.
