Winter is coming ... to Major League Baseball this summer
Winter is coming this summer -- at least to Major League Baseball.
There will soon be another outlet for your Game of Thrones fandom when Season 7 begins on July 16.
MLB.com announced in March that GoT "theme nights are coming to ballparks around MLB -- featuring commemorative collectibles, ticket packages, giveaways, special co-branded merchandise, social media events and a lot more."
More recently, one club released more information about its theme night, perhaps providing clues about what might be coming to your hometown ballpark. (Fair warning, though: Only 19 of MLB's 30 teams are reportedly hosting Westeros-themed shindigs, so check your local listings.)
Who's hosting what when? It's still unknown for the most part and HBO reps didn't provide any additional info after we inquired Wednesday.
But the Chicago White Sox have announced when their own GoT night will be, and just what it will feature.
(Southpaw is the White Sox fuzzy green mascot, by the way, not a new Thrones character.)

The White Sox host the Los Angeles Dodgers on July 19 -- which is too bad, because if the Mets were in town and Noah Syndergaard was pitching, then the occasion would really be perfect.
