Warning: Contains spoilers for Game of Thrones Season 7, episode 6.

That plan to go North of the Wall in an attempt to bring back a Wight was pretty much the worst decision ever made, wasn't it?

A totally stupid risk with a high likelihood of death and minimal rewards at best, right?

Well, probably. But some people think there may be a bonus side effect to Jon Snow's ridiculous quest.

Here's a theory shared by Redditor WeenahSixNine on Wednesday in the r/gameofthrones subreddit:

The theory went down well on Reddit, although some thought it might not have been the primary goal.

Whether it was Tyrion's main aim or just a happy side effect, though, that Wight is certainly going to make a difference when Daenerys comes face to face with Cersei on Sunday.

Because the people of King's Landing are fickle, aren't they? They don't really care about Cersei, but they will be impressed by an actual undead person. Not to mention dragons.

Cersei will almost certainly have something unpleasant planned for her guests. She's already admitted as much to Jaime. But will her plan go as smoothly as the method she used to take care of Margaery and the High Sparrow?

Maybe not this time around.
