'Game of Thrones' Season 7 trailer hits viewing record
The real-world stakes for Game of Thrones may not be as high as in this grisly fantasy, but a win is still a win. The Season 7 trailer, released Wednesday, became the highest viewed television trailer on the internet, setting a fine standard for the show's buzziest season yet.

As of publishing, the trailer had 19 million views on YouTube and 41 million on Facebook, with almost 4 million more coming in from Twitter -- and all those numbers are climbing. A significant portion of views were in the first 24 hours, making it ostensibly the most-viewed television trailer debut in history.
According to HBO, the Game of Thrones’ “Long Walk to the Throne” promo for Season 7 is HBO’s most watched tease/promo/trailer ever with 67.6 million multimedia views since March 30, breaking the record set by the Season 6 trailer (63.5 million lifetime views).
Game of Thrones premieres July 16.
