Gary Barlow to appear in the next 'Star Wars' movie because, why not?
We have officially entered the era of massive pop singers featuring in massive pop movie/TV show franchises.
After Ed Sheeran scored a role in Game of Thrones -- perhaps the most Mashable event in history -- it's the turn of Gary Barlow, the Take That singer and former X Factor UK judge, to appear in the next Star Wars film.

Barlow appeared on ITV's Lorraine, saying he would be in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the latest instalment of the epic sci-fi saga.
"I’m not a stormtrooper, but I am in it," he said, triggering speculation that he'll perform in the Mos Eisley cantina.
The 46-year-old singer then downplayed his participation in the film, as you do if you are both British and famous:
“Now I’ve said that, I’ll probably be out. I think the Star Wars people are so strict about what information [is out there]. So me saying that, I’ve probably just done myself out of a role.”
Star Wars confirmed to ITV that Barlow would indeed be appearing.
