'Gears of War 4' is getting a pro league with $1 million prize pool

Players can qualify for seven different tournaments held in North America and Europe.

Professional Gears of War players, your time in the sun is back.

Ahead of Gears of War 4's launch, Microsoft and studio The Coalition announced multi-city Gears Esports Pro Circuit, which has $1 million in prizes to give away to top teams.

The tournaments will be organized by Major League Gaming and Gfinity, and start this November -- a month after the game launches for Xbox One -- and run until July 2017. They'll be run with double-elimination brackets, with teams of five playing on the Gears of War 4's new Escalation mode.

Players can qualify for the tournaments by earning Gears Pro Points, which they earn by participating in online ladder matches on Major League Gaming's site, and daily and weekly tournaments.

Here's full schedule for the events, which doesn't include one TBA event with a $100,000 prize pool.

Fans can also increase the prize pools by purchasing Gears of War 4 in-game cosmetic items created to support Gears Esports Pro Circuit.

Gears of War 4 is out Oct. 11 on Xbox One.
