Over the weekend, a big deal was made about an actor having a job bagging groceries at a supermarket.

That actor was The Cosby Show's Geoffrey Owens, who was featured in a so-called story by the Daily Mail and Fox News for doing what many of us do in order to survive.

He was snapped by a passer-by at a New Jersey Trader Joe's, and the photo was published in what seemed a rather spiteful attempt to shame a person doing an honest day's work — even if they might be famous.

Owens is still acting, appearing recently in Elementary and Lucifer, his IMDb CV filled with various roles over the years. But it goes without saying that work in the entertainment industry is sporadic, and other jobs are simply necessary to get by.

It's a reality that's been echoed by other celebrities and actors, who wrote about their other jobs outside of acting on Twitter.

And as longtime actor James Woods notes, Owens is still bringing in that money. Work is work.
